We recognize that the events surrounding the senseless attack of students on the campus of DePauw University, point to a series of systemic issues that exist in our communities. Although we are unable to change the past, we are more than capable of creating a better tomorrow. Our sisters, DePauw students, and our communities deserve to live without fear. We are grateful for the safety of our sisters of the Wujimu Chapter at DePauw University, and stand with them in their demands to ensure the campus remains a safe space for all students.
Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Incorporated condemns such intolerance and we call on the DePauw University administration to do the same. We call on those responsible to be brought to justice. Together, we must stand up against racism, and do something about the lack of compassion around us. We urge everyone to reflect and challenge your own personal views, and continue the dialogue to help influence the national conversation.
Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Incorporated speaks to use our sorority as a vehicle to educate the surrounding campus and community on issues of diversity.
